SECURITY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ALL ECOURIER DRIVERS

One of the things that we here at e courier pride ourselves on is the security and integrity of our customer’s goods. The following security protocols must be followed in order for you to operate in a safe and secure manner.

Before using your vehicle – make sure that all your doors and windows operate effectively.

Security Recommendations –

All customers’ products MUST be carried in the rear of your vehicle at all times.

When leaving your vehicle unattended:

  • Always remove the ignition key and keep it on your person at all times.
  • Close all windows fully and lock all doors.
  • Drivers should satisfy themselves that the vehicle and the contents are secure when left unattended.

You MUST NOT carry unauthorised passengers in your vehicle during your working hours.

General Security Guidance

  • Whilst driving, ensure that all passenger/Rear doors are kept locked at all times.
  • Personal belongings e.g. Rucksacks/mobile phones/sat navs etc. must be kept out of site whilst the vehicle is left unattended.
  • Park as close to your collection/delivery point as is safe and practical.
  • Before getting out of your vehicle, have a good look around you, checking for anything unusual that may be a cause for concern. If you are uncertain remain in your vehicle for a minute or two and lock all doors and close all windows.  If there is no change or if someone approaches you, drive around the block and review the situation when you return.  Upon return, recheck the area before unlocking your vehicle.
  • When making more than one trip to a customer’s premises, always secure the vehicle between trips.
  • Be extremely wary of accidents, broken down vehicles or people try to flag you down.
  • Report any suspicious activity to the e courier operations team.

To Summarise, Vehicle Security is your responsibility and it is imperative that you look after your vehicle and the customers goods.  Failure to do this could result in disciplinary action and / or financial penalties against you.
